Hey there love the assets. do some of these animations have loopable sections to them?

Hi there, glad you like them! Unfortunately the animations do not explicitly have looping sections but I think you could fudge it by jumping back to a similar frame on some of the ones with more regular patterns. Thanks for asking, I do plan to do more particle effects in the future that feature seamless looping.

Hi! I've been using these for a while and love the pixel style. Are you planning on releasing another pack like this sometime in the future? I wouldn't mind buying more of these :0

Hi there, thanks for asking and I'm glad you like the asset pack! The answer is YES, there will be future pixel particle effect packs, but it might be a while. I'm actually working on a tool right now that can be used to create your own effects like this!

Here's a couple examples of what it'll be able to do:

Of the above GIFs, only the tornado is using an external asset (a 4-frame wind spiral animation). The others are just using basic shape particles.

If you hit the follow button on my page on itch.io (or if you're already following) you'll be notified when it's released! It still needs a lot of tweaking and some core features, but... maybe late 2020?

Hello, how is development going? Really want to try the editor.

Slowly but surely. I would expect something later this year!

Hi there are can I alter these if used in a game I plan to release for free to play on Steam? Alter as in adjust the hue.

Hi CrocoHunter, thanks for the question.

YES, you can alter the effects! Please feel free to hue shift them or perform any other modifications you like. The license permits it and will still apply to the modified result.

Hi, could you clarify the effects dimensions? (are these 16x16 frames?)

Hi, I'd be happy to clarify! There are 20 effects included, and 19 of them are 50x50px. The remaining one is a larger effect at 100x100px.

Awesome!

You should consider adding this to the description.

Thanks for working on these effects!

Sure thing! The full list of effects and their dimensions are now in the description. I'll do that for my other particle effect pack as well.

Hi there, I used this in my new game! Thank you for your great work :)

What program you used to make these animations ?

I used my own program, which is still in development. Hoping to have it released soon!

This is relly beautiful! I wanted to know if I buy them, can I use them in a Commercial game, if so, what are the requirements. Thanks in advance.

Hi, and thank you! Yes, if you buy these you can use them in both commercial and noncommercial games, provided you give attribution in the credits.

The full license text that applies to all my assets is available to read here: untiedgames.com/files/license.txt

Thank you, it is very kind of you to use this license. I really appreciate it, keep up the awesome work!

Hey Will!
These are awesome, but I was expecting it to include the smallest, most basic "particle" pieces. I'm concerned that having these as sprite sheets takes up too much space on my texture page. Are you able to add the tiniest pieces for each effect so I can program the particle systems with them myself?

Hi Bitlather, I can do that! I've added the basic particles in a folder called raw_particles. If you re-download the zip file you should see it in there. I hope you're able to create the effect you want with them. Many of the animations were rendered at a higher resolution and then downsampled to get a more "pixel" effect, so a few of the particles are actually a little large. The most useful ones in there are the rainbow particles, beam particle, and the cloud particle. Since the cloud particle was one of the larger ones, I've included a downsampled 16x16 version of it as well. Of course all the heart/star/diamond/etc particles are pretty useful too, I think.

Do you think it would be useful if I included spritesheets that skip every other frame, to reduce space? It would effectively make the animations 30 FPS, but that might be a nice option...

Downloaded the raw particles - thanks a lot!
In GameMaker, the engine I use, it's easy enough to delete frames, so I don't think you need to take that on yourself. I just like the randomness and compactness that you get with your own particle system over sprites. I'm looking forward to playing with these - might take a few weeks to get to resolve all my current to-dos, but this looks like an excellent pack.
